Hi! We are Ruff Road RV Life – We began our RV journey as a newly retired couple living and traveling in our RV, Ruff Road. At that time, we had our three dogs with us. Sadly, we lost our sweet Phoebe before we really started our travels.
My name is Sharon, lover of all things spiritual and nature – meditating, yoga, art, hiking, biking, kayaking, or just looking at the leaves blowing in the wind. My husband of 30 + years is Gary, lover of all things fishing, water, and music. Our traveling companions now are our two husky/ hound mix girls, Terra and Luna.
Why would we set out with such big dogs you may ask? Our vet asked the same thing… We adopted Luna in November of 2016 BEFORE we even planned on buying an RV and hitting the road. I wanted a hiking partner so Luna was it. The very NEXT day, Gary picked up her sister, Terra, so Luna would have company. So now we have TWO hiking partners and upper body work outs with each walk!
Why Ruff Road? There is a story behind the name.
My one and only sibling, my brother Jeff, was an owner/ operator truck driver for many years. He passed away in 2013. His company name was RUFF ROAD TRUCKING. So, it was meant to be especially with our four legged companions.
Thank you for visiting our site. Our goal in creating this site is to share possibilities and our experiences with others. If there weren’t those out there doing the same thing, I might still be in a high stress job with no work/ home balance and no time for my family, husband, or nature adventures. I thank all those who shared their experiences and we are here to share that a journey to freedom is indeed possible.
